That makes him practically a shoo-in for any formal MCU production, with an easy rivalry and a conceptually interesting gimmick that could be easily updated for the franchise. When Simon Williams returns to life and joins the team as Wonder Man, Grim Reaper becomes his natural foil. Black Panther thwarts him, but he remains a regular antagonist for the Avengers going forward. He blames the team for his brother's death, adopting his moniker and signature scythe weapon to seek revenge.
Grim Reaper first appeared in 1968's Avengers #52 (by Roy Thomas, John Buscema, Vince Colletta, and Sam Rosen), as Simon Williams' brother Eric.
